Broken mirror

Don’t Take Anything Personally – Nothing others do is because of you.  What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream.  When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.”-Don Miguel Ruiz

I woke up this morning feeling much better; I got some much needed rest. I got to my car and saw that my driver side mirror was broken-I needed to get to work on time so I didn’t think much about it- I decided to just deal with it and do what I needed to do. I have since had some time to do some deep reflecting on the event that transpired one week ago.

I learned that what happened was not my fault, not only was it not my fault but it was not my problem-it was his-it was unfortunate that I had to end up in the crossfire for something which he has yet to heal in himself. My problem was that I was taking it personally-hard lesson learned-thank you. There is no excuse for what he did, I understand one time mistakes-but not when you constantly cross boundaries-that’s not ok. I’ve had to learn to speak up for myself and say the truth-no matter what- I reminded myself that no matter what I cannot die. This was just a test-would I choose fear or would I choose love? I choose love; I choose love because that is all I am and all I have. How he chooses to respond is his problem-not mine. I cannot allow fear-which manifests as anger-overcome my being-I am sacred, I am peace, I am love. There is enough fear and hate in this world-I will not allow anymore of it in my life-we need to stop it- it’s only destroying us.

This is the truth, I do not care if you like it, the truth must be spoken- I need my peace and I am not sorry for that. This is the greatest way in which I may honor myself-by speaking my truth. Thank you.
